FACELIFT

he face all too often tells the tale of one’s age. As the years go by, the effects of sun damage, gravity, and daily life in general become apparent. Deep lines form between the mouth and the nose. The jawline grows loose and less defined. Folds and deposits of fat appear around the neck.

Dr. Cardenas’ “SMAS” technique improves the most visible signs of aging by re-draping the skin of your face and neck, removing excess fat, and tightening the underlying muscles. A facelift can be done by itself or along with other complimentary procedures such as eyelid surgery, a forehead lift, or even a nose job (Aesthetic Rhinoplasty).

The best candidate for a facelift is a man or woman whose face and neck have begun to sag, but whose skin still has some elasticity and whose bone structure is strong and well-defined. Most patients are in their forties to sixties, but facelifts can be done successfully on patients outside of this age range.

TUMMY TUCK (ABDOMINOPLASTY)

People who have loose abdominal skin and fat that is concentrated in the abdomen can benefit from abdominoplasty, better known as the “tummy tuck.” The objective of this procedure is to remove excess skin from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall.

You could be a good candidate for a tummy tuck if you have one or more of the following conditions:

  • excess or sagging skin in the abdominal area
  • a protruding abdomen that’s out of proportion compared to the rest of your body
  • abdominal muscles that have been separated and weakened
  • excess fatty tissue that is concentrated in your abdomen

Some of our clients choose to have their tummy tucks in conjunction with tumescent liposuction, a procedure which removes fat deposits from the body.

If you’re not sure if a tummy tuck, liposuction, or a combination of the two is best for you, we encourage

PECTORAL IMPLANTS

What can we say? Fantastic pecs are the holy grail of male upper body perfection. Just about every guy heading to the gym wants nice arms and a great chest to go along with it. Many are able to accomplish this goal on their own with a proper diet and a rigorous workout plan. However, for some, genetics or other issues may stand in the way.

Silicone pectoral implants may be the solution for these cases. They are best suited for guys who workout but who just can’t seem to get their pecs to the desired size. The implants are placed under the pectoral muscles so that it pushes them outward and looks and feels as natural as possible.

Dr. Cardenas has extensive experience with both female breast implants and pectoral implants for men. He uses a surgical approach from the armpit in order to minimize visible scarring.
